The two undefeated featherweight prospects will clash in the main event of an action-packed night of boxing on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Canada. In the 10-round co-feature, former world title challenger Dierry Jean will face Mexico’s Jose Luis Rodriguez in a 10-round welterweight bout. Clavel (13-0, 2 KOs), from Quebec City, Canada, is coming off a sensational first-round knockout over previously undefeated Renata Domsodi on Aug. 16 at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
The victory marked Clavel’s second win of 2019 and she is now ranked No. 3 by the WBC and No. 7 by the WBO. Plata (11-0, 1 KO), from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and fighting out of Miami, Florida, has won all 11 of her pro bouts including eight by knockout or TKO. Plata most recently fought on June 28th when she scored a six-round decision over Edina Kiss in Hollywood, Florida.
